Ta’janette Sconyers, Ph.D. has been inspired by her ancestors, mentors, family, and friends to live her life with intention and purpose...and to inspire others to do the same. She is a Black woman who has assumed many roles throughout her career including: adjunct professor, consultant, researcher, speaker, manager, therapist, director, and more. She uses her background, varied experiences, and training to assist her clients in whatever ways she can.
Dr. Sconyers strategically intends to encourage and inspire people and organizations to want better and do better for themselves and the people around them. She presents information and poses questions in a way that is engaging and digestible.
Diversity & Inclusion
Dr. Sconyers is passionate about diversity and inclusion, college entrance/persistence, as well as career/vocational satisfaction. She has participated in diversity, inclusion, and career development work in some capacity for over 10 years as an instructor, manager, director and more.
Education
Dr. Sconyers earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Truman State University. She then earned her Master of Education Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Career Psychology from the University of Missouri. Dr. Sconyers went on to earn her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with a Multicultural Psychology minor from the University of Missouri. She completed her postdoctoral residency at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute.
Who Dr. Sconyers Is
Dr. Sconyers is someone who has championed diversity and inclusion as well as mental wellness for many years. She intentionally took courses and gained experiences that have positioned her to be a knowledgeable person and professional in these areas.
